New NDIS Compliance Features for SIL Registration Changes

As you may be aware, mandatory NDIS registration for Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers comes into effect on 1 July 2026.

To help you prepare for this transition, we have released two new features within Caresquare that provide greater visibility into provider registration status and SIL-related claiming activity.

You can read more about the upcoming changes on the NDIS Commission website.

1. SIL Providers Report

You can now download a report identifying providers who have submitted SIL-related claims within your Caresquare account.

How to access the report

  1. Navigate to Providers and Click Export

  2. Under Prebuilt Reports section select SIL Providers

  3. Click Download

The report includes:

-Provider name

-Provider email address

-Number of SIL claims submitted

-Most recent SIL claim date

This report can help you identify providers who may be impacted by the upcoming registration requirements and assist with your compliance planning.

2. Provider Registration Information

Caresquare now automatically retrieves provider registration information directly from the NDIA.

For registered providers, their NDIS Registration Groups will be automatically populated and kept up to date within the platform. (If required, you can manually refresh the information at any time by clicking the Refresh button.)

Where can I view registration groups?

Registration groups are visible in two locations:

  • on the Provider Profile

Open a provider record and locate the Registration Groups section to view the provider's currently registered support categories.

  • on the Add/Edit Provider Drawer

When viewing or editing provider details from the invoice workflow, registration groups will also be displayed within the provider details panel.

SIL Compliance Warnings (Effective 1 July 2026)

From 1 July 2026, Caresquare will display a warning when:

  • A provider is claiming a SIL-related support item, and

  • The provider does not appear to hold the required NDIS registration.

This warning is intended to help Plan Managers identify potential compliance concerns before claims are processed.

There are a number of different scenarios that may apply, which will determine how this warning should be handled. If you visit the NDIA website and navigate to the "Transition pathways for registration" section, you'll find guidance outlining the requirements and actions for each scenario.
